Sensei's Story

Meet Sensei, the sweet, loving Labrador Retriever made famous from a photo taken by Marcus Yam, a photojournalist for Los Angeles Times.

During the early days of the war in Ukraine Sensei's owners left him alone for nearly two months, abandoned on the frontlines near Kyiv.

In a risky move, Sensei was immediately brought to a hospital for immediate medical attention. Thanks to the generosity of people who donated money for his medical expenses, Sensei received the lifesaving treatment he needed. Over several months, his health improved so much that he is now ready to join a new, healthy home.

Sensei's story is one of triumph, but there are still many other innocent animals suffering in the midst of the war. Our mission is to save as many of these animals as possible and reunite them with their loving families.
